Rural STEAM Education Training in Ghana

Krutiase, Ghana  |  In Collaboration with Young at Heart Ghana

As part of my ongoing work in rural Ghana, I am engaging more than 10 teachers and community elders in the Krutiase Basic School area through training programs focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), STEAM education, and African Indigenous Knowledge Systems.

Through these training sessions, I equip participants with practical knowledge and skills to integrate emerging technologies and culturally relevant teaching approaches into educational and community learning practices. The initiative promotes innovative, inclusive, and contextually meaningful learning experiences that bridge traditional knowledge with modern educational technologies. I also helped launch and test the Ananse the Teacher AR–AI Platform, an immersive-media learning platform designed to support rural STEAM education in Ghana.

Pan-African Students Athletes Initiative

Co-Founder · with Yale Sports Africa · hosted by Appiah Sports Impact

As co-founder of this initiative with Yale Sports Africa and, through Appiah Sports Impact as the host organization, we champion sports and education across the African continent by creating a pipeline for talented athletes in rural areas to access scholarships at international academies and schools. Athletes in the program combine their education with their sporting abilities, positioning them to become sports professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders in their communities.

Documentary Project

African Indigenous Knowledge and Rural STEAM Research in Ghana

This documentary follows my work with teachers in Krutiase Village, Ghana, on an AI and augmented reality STEAM education project. It shows teachers co-designing and testing learning activities, participating in training, and sharing their experiences through interviews and observations.

The video also highlights the challenges rural teachers and students face, including limited resources and poor infrastructure, and demonstrates how African Indigenous knowledge, AI, and AR can be combined to create meaningful and culturally relevant learning experiences in rural Ghanaian schools.
